Niacinamide, also called nicotinamide, is the amide form of vitamin B3 (niacin), supplied by Nustras as a white crystalline powder and used as a vitamin ingredient for supplements, premixes, fortified foods and cosmetics. It is a water-soluble B vitamin and a precursor of the coenzymes NAD and NADP, which take part in a large number of enzymatic reactions.
It is formulated into B-complex and multivitamin supplements in tablet, capsule and powder form, vitamin premixes, fortified flours, cereals and beverages, sports-nutrition products, feed premixes, and skin-care creams and serums as a cosmetic active.
The material is a white, odourless crystalline powder, freely soluble in water; CAS number 98-92-0, molecular formula C6H6N2O, molecular weight 122.12. Assay is confirmed by titration or HPLC, identity by infrared spectroscopy and melting point, and the material is standardised to specification. Heavy-metal and microbial limits are supplied to specification and confirmed on each lot's certificate of analysis.
Nustras supplies niacinamide in bulk commercial quantities, in food-grade bags and fibre drums, to manufacturers and formulators internationally, with a certificate of analysis, specification sheet and country-of-origin documentation on every lot. Niacinamide is an accepted vitamin B3 source for supplements, fortification and cosmetics in major markets; buyers confirm the grade and permitted level for their application.
