Sunflower seed oil is the vegetable oil pressed from the seeds of Helianthus annuus, supplied by Nustras as a clear, light-yellow liquid in conventional and certified organic grades and used as a carrier oil and food oil for supplements, foods and cosmetics. The oil consists mainly of triglycerides of unsaturated fatty acids, chiefly linoleic and oleic acid, and naturally contains tocopherols.
It is formulated into softgel capsules as a carrier and fill oil, into liquid supplements and emulsions, into functional foods, culinary and bakery products, and into creams, lotions and other cosmetic formulations as an emollient base.
The material is a clear, light-yellow liquid, practically insoluble in water, offered to BP grade. Acid value, peroxide value, fatty-acid composition and refractive index are standardised to specification; identity is confirmed by gas chromatography of the fatty-acid profile, and heavy-metal and microbial limits are supplied to specification and confirmed on each lot's certificate of analysis. A certified organic grade is available.
Nustras supplies sunflower seed oil in bulk commercial quantities, in sealed drums and other liquid packaging, to manufacturers and formulators internationally, with a certificate of analysis, specification sheet and country-of-origin documentation on every lot. Sunflower seed oil is an accepted food, supplement and cosmetic ingredient in major markets; buyers confirm the grade and permitted use for their application.
