Magnesium hydrogen citrate pentahydrate is a magnesium salt of citric acid in which one of the three acid groups remains unneutralised (the monobasic or "hydrogen citrate" form), crystallised with five molecules of water, supplied by Nustras as a white powder and used as a source of the mineral magnesium in supplements, foods and pharmaceutical preparations. Compared with fully neutralised trimagnesium citrate it is more acidic and more readily soluble in water.
