Category: Mineral Chelates & Salts
Magnesium glycinate chelate, also called magnesium bisglycinate, is a chelated mineral in which one magnesium ion is bound to two molecules of the amino acid glycine, supplied by Nustras in powder, taste-free, micronised, coated and directly granulated grades, and used as a source of the mineral magnesium in supplements and fortified foods. Glycine is the smallest amino acid, and its magnesium chelate is a neutral, water-soluble compound.
It is formulated into magnesium supplements in tablet, capsule, powder and gummy form, into multimineral and sports-nutrition premixes, and into functional foods and beverages. The granular grades are intended for direct compression; the micronised and taste-free grades suit sachets, drink mixes and chewable products.
The material is a white to off-white powder or granule. CAS number 14783-68-7, molecular formula C4H8MgN2O4, molecular weight 172.42. Magnesium content, glycine content, loss on drying and chelation are standardised to specification; identity and assay are confirmed by complexometric titration and infrared spectroscopy, and heavy-metal and microbial limits are supplied to specification and confirmed on each lot's certificate of analysis.
Nustras supplies magnesium glycinate chelate in bulk commercial quantities, in food-grade bags and fibre drums, to manufacturers and formulators internationally, with a certificate of analysis, specification sheet and country-of-origin documentation on every lot. Magnesium bisglycinate is an accepted magnesium source in major markets; buyers confirm the elemental-magnesium contribution, grade and permitted level for their application.
