Magnesium acetyl taurate is the magnesium salt of N-acetyl taurine, in which magnesium is bound to two molecules of the acetylated form of taurine. Nustras supplies it as a powder for supplement use. Taurine is a naturally occurring amino-sulfonic acid; magnesium is a major mineral and a cofactor for many enzymes.
Magnesium acetyl taurate is formulated into magnesium supplements in capsules, tablets and powders, into combination mineral products, into nutritional premixes and into functional beverages, where an organic, amino-acid-derived magnesium form is specified by the formulator.
The material is a white to off-white powder. CAS number 75350-40-2, molecular formula C8H16MgN2O8S2, molecular weight 356.7. Magnesium is assayed by complexometric titration or ICP and acetyl taurine by HPLC; identity is confirmed by infrared spectroscopy and the material is standardised to specification. Heavy-metal and microbial limits are supplied to specification and confirmed on each lot's certificate of analysis.
Nustras supplies magnesium acetyl taurate in bulk commercial quantities, in food-grade bags and fibre drums, to manufacturers and formulators internationally, with a certificate of analysis, specification sheet and country-of-origin documentation on every lot. Magnesium is a permitted mineral source in major supplement markets; buyers confirm the elemental-magnesium contribution and permitted level for their application.
