Chromium nicotinate glycinate is an organic chromium(III) chelate in which the chromium ion is coordinated by nicotinic acid (niacin) and glycine ligands, supplied by Nustras as a powder for use as a chromium source in dietary supplements and nutritional premixes. Trivalent chromium is a trace element used in nutrition; the mixed-ligand chelate presents it in a stable, well-defined organic form.
It is formulated into mineral and multimineral supplements in tablet, capsule and powder form, into sports-nutrition products, nutritional premixes and fortified foods, and into animal-feed premixes.
The material is a fine powder with the colour characteristic of chromium(III) complexes. Elemental chromium content is standardised to specification and determined by ICP or atomic-absorption spectrometry; chelation and the absence of hexavalent chromium are confirmed by infrared spectroscopy and the diphenylcarbazide test, and heavy-metal and microbial limits are supplied to specification and confirmed on each lot's certificate of analysis.
Nustras supplies chromium nicotinate glycinate in bulk commercial quantities, in food-grade bags and fibre drums, to manufacturers and formulators internationally, with a certificate of analysis, specification sheet and country-of-origin documentation on every lot. Chromium (as a nicotinate glycinate chelate) is a permitted mineral source in several supplement markets; buyers confirm the elemental-chromium contribution, grade and permitted level for their application.
