Chromium glycinate is a chelate of trivalent chromium with the amino acid glycine, supplied by Nustras as a fine powder and used as a source of the trace mineral chromium in supplements and premixes. Trivalent chromium is the form of the element used in nutrition, and the glycine ligand gives an organic mineral source that blends readily with other dry ingredients.
It is formulated into mineral and multimineral tablets and capsules, chromium-containing dietary supplements, nutrient premixes, powdered beverage mixes and functional foods. Because the elemental-chromium contribution is high relative to typical daily amounts, it is used at low inclusion rates.
The material is a powder, standardised to specification for chromium content. Identity is confirmed by an appropriate spectroscopic method and assay by atomic absorption or ICP; hexavalent chromium is controlled to specification. Heavy-metal and microbial limits are supplied to specification and confirmed on each lot's certificate of analysis.
Nustras supplies chromium glycinate in bulk commercial quantities, in sealed packaging and fibre drums, to manufacturers and formulators internationally, with a certificate of analysis, specification sheet and country-of-origin documentation on every lot. Chromium amino acid chelates are accepted chromium sources in major supplement markets; buyers confirm the elemental-chromium contribution, grade and permitted level for their application.
