Calcium Magnesium Malate

Calcium magnesium malate is a mixed mineral salt in which calcium and magnesium are both combined with malic acid, the organic acid naturally present in apples and other fruit, supplied by Nustras as a white powder and used as a combined source of the two minerals in supplements and fortified foods. Malic acid is a dicarboxylic acid that forms stable, mildly acidic salts with alkaline-earth metals.

It is formulated into calcium-magnesium supplements in tablet, capsule and powder form, into sports-nutrition and electrolyte powders, into multimineral premixes, and into fortified beverages and functional foods where one ingredient delivering both minerals is convenient for the formulator.

The material is a white to off-white powder with a mild acidic taste.
