Calcium Amino Acid

Calcium amino acid chelate is a mineral chelate in which calcium is bound to amino acids, typically glycine or a hydrolysed-protein amino acid mixture, supplied by Nustras as a powder and as a direct-compression granular grade and used as a calcium source for supplements and fortification.

It is formulated into calcium and multimineral supplements in tablet, capsule and powder form, into vitamin and mineral premixes, into fortified foods and nutritional beverages, and into animal-nutrition premixes where an organically bound calcium source is required.

The material is a white to off-white powder or granule. Calcium content, loss on drying, particle size and bulk density are standardised to specification; identity and assay are confirmed by complexometric titration or ICP for calcium and by an amino-acid identification test, and heavy-metal and microbial limits are supplied to specification and confirmed on each lot's certificate of analysis.
