Boron glycinate is an amino-acid chelate of the trace element boron with glycine, supplied by Nustras as a white powder and used as a source of boron in mineral supplements and premixes. Boron is a trace element naturally present in fruit, vegetables, nuts and legumes; binding it to glycine, the smallest amino acid, gives an organic boron form that is readily incorporated into dry formulations.
It is formulated into mineral and multimineral supplements in capsule, tablet and powder form, into bone-mineral and sports-nutrition formulations, into mineral premixes for functional foods and beverages, and into animal-nutrition and feed-supplement products.
The material is a white to off-white powder (CAS 2493271-83-1; molecular formula C2H4BNO2, molecular weight 84.87). Boron content, glycine content, loss on drying and particle size are standardised to specification; identity is confirmed by infrared spectroscopy and the boron assay by ICP-OES, and heavy-metal and microbial limits are supplied to specification and confirmed on each lot's certificate of analysis. The material is of Chinese origin.
Nustras supplies boron glycinate in bulk commercial quantities, in food-grade bags and fibre drums, to manufacturers and formulators internationally, with a certificate of analysis, specification sheet and country-of-origin documentation on every lot. Boron is a permitted supplement mineral in several major markets, subject to maximum levels; buyers confirm the elemental-boron contribution, permitted level and claim for their application.
