Tapioca starch is the native starch extracted from the root of cassava (Manihot esculenta), composed of amylose and amylopectin and characterised by a neutral taste, a clear paste and high viscosity on cooking. Nustras supplies it as a fine white powder, naturally gluten-free, for use as a thickener, binder, carrier and texturising ingredient in food, supplement and industrial products.
It is formulated into tablets and capsules as a filler, binder and disintegrant, into powder blends and premixes as a carrier, and into sauces, soups, bakery, snacks, noodles, dairy and gluten-free products as a thickener and texturiser. It is also used in paper, textile, adhesive and biodegradable packaging applications.
The material is a fine white, odourless powder. CAS number 9005-25-8. Identity is confirmed by microscopy of the starch granules and the iodine test, with moisture, ash, pH, viscosity and whiteness standardised to specification. Sulphur dioxide, heavy-metal and microbial limits are supplied to specification and confirmed on each lot’s certificate of analysis.
Nustras supplies tapioca starch in bulk commercial quantities, in food-grade bags, to manufacturers and formulators internationally, with a certificate of analysis, specification sheet and country-of-origin documentation on every lot. Native tapioca starch is an accepted food ingredient in major markets; buyers confirm the grade and labelling for their application. Contact us for grade, pricing per kilogram and lead time.
