Sodium Hyaluronate

Category: Functional Ingredients

Sodium hyaluronate is the sodium salt of hyaluronic acid, a linear glycosaminoglycan built from repeating units of D-glucuronic acid and N-acetyl-D-glucosamine. It is the form in which hyaluronan is most often handled commercially, being more stable than the free acid. Nustras supplies sodium hyaluronate as a powder, in a range of molecular-weight grades, for dietary supplements, functional foods and cosmetics.

Sodium hyaluronate is formulated into capsules, tablets, oral liquids, gummies and functional beverages, and into cosmetic serums, creams, masks and personal-care products as a humectant and film-forming agent. The grade is chosen for the viscosity the finished product requires.

Sodium hyaluronate is a white to off-white hygroscopic powder or granule that dissolves in water to a viscous solution. Each lot is standardised to specification; identity is confirmed by infrared spectroscopy and glucuronic acid content by the carbazole method, and heavy-metal and microbial limits are supplied to specification and confirmed on each lot's certificate of analysis.

Nustras supplies sodium hyaluronate in bulk commercial quantities, in sealed packaging and fibre drums, to manufacturers and formulators internationally, with a certificate of analysis, specification sheet and country-of-origin documentation on every lot. Sodium hyaluronate is an accepted supplement and cosmetic ingredient in major markets; buyers confirm the permitted level, grade and labelling for their application.
