Serrapeptase

Category: Functional Ingredients

Serrapeptase (serratiopeptidase) is a proteolytic enzyme, a serine protease, produced by fermentation of the bacterium Serratia marcescens. Nustras supplies it as an enteric-coated, acid-resistant powder or granule, used as an enzyme ingredient in dietary supplements.

It is formulated into enzyme capsules and tablets, systemic and digestive enzyme blends and other dietary-supplement presentations. The enteric coating is designed to protect the enzyme from stomach acid so that it is released in the intestine; the granular form is suited to capsule filling and tableting.

The material is cream to pale-yellow enteric-coated granules with an enzyme activity of not less than 2400 IU/mg, and is of Indian origin. Activity is confirmed by a casein-digestion enzyme assay on each lot, with identity confirmed by an appropriate method. Heavy-metal and microbial limits are supplied to specification and confirmed on each lot's certificate of analysis.

Nustras supplies serrapeptase in bulk commercial quantities, in sealed food-grade bags and fibre drums, to manufacturers and formulators internationally, with a certificate of analysis, specification sheet and country-of-origin documentation on every lot. Serrapeptase is sold as a supplement ingredient in several major markets; buyers confirm the permitted use, activity unit and claim in their own jurisdiction.
