Rice protein is a plant protein isolated from the grain of rice, Oryza sativa, typically brown rice, by enzymatic hydrolysis of the starch fraction followed by separation and drying of the protein. Nustras supplies rice protein as a powder, used as a protein source in plant-based foods, beverages and sports nutrition, often blended with pea protein.
Rice protein is formulated into protein powders and shakes, protein bars, meal replacements, bakery and cereal products, meat and dairy alternatives, and into capsules and tablets. Its mild flavour and fine particle size make it a common base for blended plant-protein products.
Rice protein is a light cream to tan powder with a mild grain taste. Protein content is standardised to specification and confirmed by the Kjeldahl or Dumas method, and heavy-metal limits, including arsenic, and microbial limits are supplied to specification and confirmed on each lot's certificate of analysis. A protein isolate has no single CAS number or molecular formula.
Nustras supplies rice protein in bulk commercial quantities, in food-grade bags, to manufacturers and formulators internationally, with a certificate of analysis, specification sheet and country-of-origin documentation on every lot. Rice protein is an accepted food and supplement ingredient in major markets; buyers confirm the permitted use and allergen labelling for their application.
