Quercetin

Quercetin is a flavonol, one of the most widely distributed flavonoids in the plant kingdom, occurring as the aglycone of rutin and other glycosides in onions, apples, capers, berries and tea. Nustras supplies it as a yellow crystalline powder, obtained by hydrolysis of rutin, for use as a polyphenol ingredient in supplements, functional foods and cosmetics.

It is formulated into capsules, tablets, softgels and powder blends, often together with bromelain, vitamin C or other flavonoids, and into functional beverages, gummies and premixes. Because it is poorly soluble in water, formulators use micronised grades, phospholipid complexes or dispersible systems for liquid applications.
