Phosphatidylserine (PS) is a glycerophospholipid in which a glycerol backbone carries two fatty acid chains and a phosphoserine head group. It is a normal structural component of cell membranes. Nustras supplies phosphatidylserine as a powder produced by enzymatic conversion of lecithin-derived phospholipids, for use as a phospholipid ingredient in the supplement and nutrition sectors.
The ingredient is formulated into supplements in softgel, capsule and tablet form, and into functional foods and beverages where a phospholipid ingredient is specified. The source material (soy or sunflower lecithin) is stated on the specification sheet.
The material is a white to light-yellow powder (CAS 1446756-47-3, molecular formula C42H82NO10P, molecular weight 792.1 for the representative diacyl species). Phosphatidylserine content is standardised to specification and determined by HPLC, with identity confirmed by thin-layer chromatography; loss on drying and peroxide value are standardised to specification, and heavy-metal and microbial limits are supplied to specification and confirmed on each lot's certificate of analysis.
Nustras supplies phosphatidylserine in bulk commercial quantities, in sealed packaging and fibre drums, to manufacturers and formulators internationally, with a certificate of analysis, specification sheet and country-of-origin documentation on every lot. Phosphatidylserine is an accepted supplement ingredient in major markets; buyers confirm the permitted level and claim for their application. Contact us for grade, pricing per kilogram and lead time.
