L-Glutathione (reduced glutathione, GSH) is a tripeptide made up of the amino acids glutamic acid, cysteine and glycine, linked through an unusual gamma-glutamyl bond, supplied by Nustras as a white crystalline powder for the dietary-supplement, cosmetic and food sectors. Glutathione occurs naturally in plant and animal cells; the commercial ingredient is produced by fermentation and purified to a defined content of the reduced (thiol) form.
It is formulated into capsules, tablets, sublingual and powdered supplements, into combination formulas with vitamin C, N-acetylcysteine or alpha-lipoic acid, into functional beverages, and into cosmetic and skin-care preparations where glutathione is a declared ingredient.
The material is a white crystalline powder with CAS number 70-18-8, molecular formula C10H17N3O6S and molecular weight 307.33. Reduced glutathione content is standardised to specification and determined by HPLC or titration, with identity confirmed by infrared and specific rotation; heavy-metal and microbial limits are supplied to specification and confirmed on each lot's certificate of analysis.
Nustras supplies L-glutathione in bulk commercial quantities, in sealed packaging and fibre drums, to manufacturers and formulators internationally, with a certificate of analysis, specification sheet and country-of-origin documentation on every lot. L-Glutathione is an accepted supplement ingredient in major markets; buyers confirm the permitted level, route and claim for their application.
