Catalase is an enzyme, a haem-containing oxidoreductase, that catalyses the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide into water and oxygen. Nustras supplies it as a standardised enzyme preparation in powder form, with the source organism and declared activity stated on the specification sheet, for use in food processing, enzyme supplements and cosmetic manufacture.
It is used in dairy and egg processing to remove residual hydrogen peroxide after peroxide processing of milk, whey and egg products, in textile processing to neutralise bleach residues before dyeing, in cosmetic and personal-care formulations, and in digestive-enzyme blends in capsules, tablets and powders.
The material is a free-flowing powder on a food-grade carrier. Activity is expressed in enzyme units per gram and standardised to specification, with assay by a hydrogen-peroxide decomposition method. Heavy-metal and microbial limits, including the absence of the production organism where applicable, are supplied to specification and confirmed on each lot's certificate of analysis.
Nustras supplies catalase in bulk commercial quantities, in sealed moisture-barrier packaging and fibre drums, to manufacturers and formulators internationally, with a certificate of analysis, specification sheet and country-of-origin documentation on every lot. Catalase preparations are accepted food enzymes and processing aids in major markets; buyers confirm the enzyme source, activity, permitted use and claim for their application.
