Zinc sulfate is an inorganic zinc salt of sulfuric acid, supplied by Nustras as a white crystalline powder or granule and used as a source of the essential trace mineral zinc in supplements, fortification, feed and agriculture. The salt is traded as the anhydrous, monohydrate or heptahydrate form, which differ in zinc content.
Zinc sulfate is formulated into mineral and multimineral supplements, capsules and tablets, vitamin-mineral premixes, fortified flours and foods, pharmaceutical preparations, feed premixes and compound feed, and fertilisers.
The material is a white or colourless crystalline powder or granule, freely soluble in water. CAS number 7733-02-0 (anhydrous basis), molecular formula O4SZn, molecular weight 161.4. Identity and assay are confirmed by complexometric titration against the pharmacopoeial or FCC monograph; the hydrate form, zinc content, lead, cadmium, heavy-metal and microbial limits are supplied to specification and confirmed on each lot's certificate of analysis.
Nustras supplies zinc sulfate in bulk commercial quantities, in food-grade bags and sealed packaging, to manufacturers and formulators internationally, with a certificate of analysis, specification sheet and country-of-origin documentation on every lot. Zinc (as zinc sulfate) is a permitted mineral source in major supplement, food and feed markets; buyers confirm the hydrate form, elemental-zinc contribution and permitted level for their application.
