Tripotassium phosphate monohydrate, often abbreviated tri-K phosphate, is the fully neutralised potassium salt of phosphoric acid crystallised with one molecule of water, supplied by Nustras as a white crystalline powder or granules. It gives a strongly alkaline solution in water and is a source of both potassium and phosphorus.
It is formulated into processed foods as a buffering agent, emulsifying salt, sequestrant and protein stabiliser, for example in processed cheese, meat and plant-based protein products and beverages; into electrolyte and mineral nutrition products; and into animal feed and nutritional premixes.
The material is a white, odourless, hygroscopic crystalline powder or granule, freely soluble in water. Identity is confirmed by tests for potassium and phosphate, assay by titration and water content by loss on drying, all standardised to specification; heavy-metal and microbial limits are supplied to specification and confirmed on each lot's certificate of analysis.
Nustras supplies tripotassium phosphate monohydrate in bulk commercial quantities, in food-grade bags and fibre drums, to manufacturers and formulators internationally, with a certificate of analysis, specification sheet and country-of-origin documentation on every lot. Potassium phosphates are accepted food additives in major markets; buyers confirm the grade, the potassium and phosphorus contribution and the permitted level for their application.
