Sucralose is a non-nutritive artificial sweetener, approximately 600 times sweeter than sucrose (table sugar). It is chemically synthesized by selectively chlorinating sucrose, replacing three hydroxyl groups with chlorine atoms. It is commonly used in beverages, baked goods, chewing gum, and sugar-free products.
