Sodium Silica Penta, commonly known as Sodium Silicate, is an inorganic chemical compound consisting of sodium oxide and silica (silicon dioxide) in varying ratios. It is a water-soluble glassy substance used in the food industry as a food additive (anti-caking agent, E551) and in some dietary supplements as a source of silicon.
