PABA (Para-Aminobenzoic Acid) is an organic compound that is part of the vitamin B complex family, although it is not a true vitamin for humans. It is used by bacteria in the synthesis of folic acid and is sometimes used in nutritional supplements and in cosmetics and personal care products (formerly sunscreens).
