L-lactic acid is a naturally occurring alpha-hydroxy acid, supplied by Nustras as a clear liquid for food, beverage, cosmetic and pharmaceutical applications. Produced by fermentation, the L-(+) isomer is the biologically preferred form, and the material functions as an acidulant, pH regulator, preservative aid and chelant.
L-lactic acid is used as a food and beverage acidulant and flavour adjunct, as a pH regulator and preservative in a wide range of formulations, as an exfoliating and moisturising active in cosmetics and skincare, and as a feedstock and processing aid in pharmaceutical and industrial applications.
The material carries CAS 79-33-4, the molecular formula C3H6O3 and the food-additive number E270, and is supplied as a clear colourless to pale-yellow liquid at defined concentrations (for example 80% or 88%). Assay, specific rotation, heavy-metal and microbial limits are supplied to specification and confirmed on each lot's certificate of analysis.
Nustras supplies L-lactic acid in bulk commercial quantities, in food-grade drums and IBCs, to manufacturers and formulators internationally, with a certificate of analysis, specification sheet and country-of-origin documentation on every lot. L-lactic acid is an approved food additive and cosmetic/pharmaceutical ingredient in major markets; buyers confirm the grade, concentration and permitted use for their application.
