Glycine betaine, also known as trimethylglycine (TMG) or simply betaine, is an N-trimethylated derivative of the amino acid glycine, a naturally occurring compound found in sugar beet, spinach, quinoa and wheat bran. Nustras supplies it as a crystalline powder for use as a nutritional ingredient and as a functional additive in food and feed. It acts as a methyl donor in metabolism.
Glycine betaine is formulated into dietary supplement capsules, tablets and powders, sports-nutrition and pre-workout blends, functional beverages, and vitamin and amino-acid premixes. It is also used in animal feed and aquaculture premixes, and in cosmetic formulations as a humectant and conditioning agent.
The material is standardised to specification for betaine content, with identity confirmed by infrared spectroscopy and assay by titration or HPLC. CAS 107-43-7, molecular formula C5H11NO2, molecular weight 117.15. Heavy-metal and microbial limits are supplied to specification and confirmed on each lot's certificate of analysis.
Nustras supplies glycine betaine in bulk commercial quantities, in food-grade bags and fibre drums, to manufacturers and formulators internationally, with a certificate of analysis, specification sheet and country-of-origin documentation on every lot. Betaine is an accepted food, supplement and feed ingredient in major markets; buyers confirm the permitted level and claim for their application.
