White willow is the dried bark of Salix alba, a deciduous tree of the willow family (Salicaceae) native to Europe and western Asia and widely planted elsewhere. Nustras supplies it as cut and sifted bark, fine powder and extract powder for the herbal and supplement trade. The bark contains salicin and related salicylate glycosides such as salicortin, together with flavonoids and condensed tannins.
White willow bark is formulated into single-herb and combination capsules and tablets, liquid tinctures and fluid extracts, herbal tea blends, traditional multi-herb formulas, and topical and cosmetic formulations.
The material is a greyish-brown to reddish-brown cut bark or powder with a faint odour and a bitter, astringent taste. Identity is confirmed by macroscopic and microscopic examination and thin-layer chromatography, and extracts are standardised to specification for salicin content by HPLC. Heavy-metal, pesticide-residue and microbial limits are supplied to specification and confirmed on each lot's certificate of analysis.
Nustras supplies white willow bark in bulk commercial quantities, in food-grade bags and fibre drums, to manufacturers and formulators internationally, with a certificate of analysis, specification sheet and country-of-origin documentation on every lot. White willow bark is an accepted herbal ingredient in major supplement markets; buyers confirm the permitted salicin level, preparation and claim for their application.
