White pine bark is the dried bark of Pinus strobus, the eastern white pine, a conifer native to northeastern North America. Nustras supplies it as cut and sifted bark, fine powder and extract powder for the herbal and supplement trade. The bark contains proanthocyanidins (condensed tannins), flavonoids and resin acids, and has long been used in regional herbal tradition.
White pine bark is formulated into herbal tea blends, syrups and lozenges, single-herb and combination capsules and tablets, liquid tinctures and fluid extracts, and topical and cosmetic formulations where an astringent botanical extract is wanted.
The material is a reddish-brown to brown cut bark or powder with a resinous odour and astringent taste. Identity is confirmed by macroscopic and microscopic examination and thin-layer chromatography, and extracts are standardised to specification for proanthocyanidin content by spectrophotometric assay. Heavy-metal, pesticide-residue and microbial limits are supplied to specification and confirmed on each lot's certificate of analysis.
Nustras supplies white pine bark in bulk commercial quantities, in food-grade bags and fibre drums, to manufacturers and formulators internationally, with a certificate of analysis, specification sheet and country-of-origin documentation on every lot. White pine bark is an accepted herbal ingredient in major supplement markets; buyers confirm the permitted species, preparation and claim for their application.
