Tinospora cordifolia (guduchi, giloy) is a deciduous climbing shrub of the Menispermaceae family native to the Indian subcontinent, whose stem is a long-established botanical raw material in Ayurvedic practice. Nustras supplies Tinospora cordifolia as a dried stem powder and as extract powder for the supplement and natural-products sector. The stem contains diterpenoid lactones (tinosporide), the bitter glycoside tinosporaside, alkaloids such as berberine and magnoflorine, and polysaccharides.
It is formulated into botanical supplements in capsule, tablet and powder form, into traditional Ayurvedic-formula blends, and into herbal teas, functional beverages and powdered drink mixes where a Tinospora ingredient is required.
The material is a light brown to brown powder with a characteristic bitter taste. Bitter principles or extract ratio, particle size, loss on drying and ash are standardised to specification; identity is confirmed by botanical identification and HPLC or TLC fingerprint, and heavy-metal, pesticide-residue and microbial limits are supplied to specification and confirmed on each lot's certificate of analysis.
Nustras supplies Tinospora cordifolia in bulk commercial quantities, in food-grade bags and fibre drums, to manufacturers and formulators internationally, with a certificate of analysis, specification sheet and country-of-origin documentation on every lot. Tinospora cordifolia stem is an accepted botanical ingredient in major supplement markets; buyers confirm the permitted plant part, level and claim for their application.
