Rosemary

Category: Botanicals

Rosemary is the dried leaf of Rosmarinus officinalis, an aromatic evergreen shrub native to the Mediterranean, supplied by Nustras as a yellow-brown fine leaf powder. Rosemary leaf contains phenolic diterpenes (carnosic acid and carnosol), rosmarinic acid, flavonoids and an essential oil rich in cineole and camphor.

Rosemary leaf powder is formulated into seasonings, spice blends and savoury foods, herbal teas and infusion blends, botanical supplements in capsule and tablet form, functional foods and beverages, and cosmetic and personal-care products.

The material is a yellow-brown fine powder with a strong aromatic, camphoraceous odour and a bitter, slightly pungent taste. Particle size, moisture and foreign-matter content are standardised to specification; botanical identity is confirmed by HPTLC, with testing to European Pharmacopoeia methods for rosemary leaf. Heavy-metal and microbial limits are supplied to specification and confirmed on each lot's certificate of analysis. The listed origin is China.

Nustras supplies rosemary in bulk commercial quantities, in food-grade bags and fibre drums, to manufacturers and formulators internationally, with a certificate of analysis, specification sheet and country-of-origin documentation on every lot. Rosemary leaf is an accepted food, spice and supplement ingredient in major markets; buyers confirm the permitted level and claim for their application.
