Red vine is the leaf of the grapevine, Vitis vinifera, taken from cultivars whose foliage turns red in autumn and traditionally used in European herbal practice; it is a separate ingredient from grape seed and grape skin extracts. Nustras supplies red vine as dried cut leaf, leaf powder and leaf extract for the herbal supplement category. The leaf is characterised by polyphenols, including anthocyanins, quercetin glycosides and proanthocyanidins.
Red vine leaf and extract are formulated into capsules, tablets and powder blends, herbal teas, liquid extracts, cosmetic preparations and multi-botanical premixes.
Dried leaf is reddish-brown to brownish-green; powder is brownish; extracts are reddish-brown to brown fine powders with an astringent taste. Identity is confirmed by HPTLC against reference material, and extracts are standardised to specification for total polyphenols or anthocyanins by UV spectrophotometry. Heavy-metal, pesticide-residue and microbial limits are supplied to specification and confirmed on each lot's certificate of analysis.
Nustras supplies red vine leaf in bulk commercial quantities, in food-grade bags and fibre drums, to manufacturers and formulators internationally, with a certificate of analysis, specification sheet and country-of-origin documentation on every lot. Red vine leaf is an accepted herbal ingredient in major markets; buyers confirm the plant part, extract ratio and permitted claim for their application.
