Quebracho refers to the wood or extract obtained from several South American tree species, most notably Schinopsis balansae and Aspidosperma quebracho-blanco. The wood is rich in tannins and is traditionally used in leather tanning, as well as in herbal and nutritional applications for its astringent and antioxidant properties. It may also be used in supplements and teas for respiratory health and circulation.
