Psyllium Husk is the seed coat (husk) of Plantago ovata, a plant cultivated mainly in India. It is exceptionally rich in soluble dietary fibre (mucilage), which forms a gel in water and is valued for digestive health, bowel regularity and cholesterol management.
As a bulk ingredient, psyllium husk is supplied as whole husk and as husk powder across a range of purities and mesh sizes (e.g. 40–99%). It is used in dietary-fibre supplements, laxative and digestive formulations, and functional foods and beverages — capsules, sachets, tablets and baked goods. Non-GMO and vegan-suitable grades are available.
