Marigold here is the flower of Tagetes erecta, an annual of the daisy family grown for its orange flower heads. Nustras supplies marigold as a flower extract powder, standardised to its carotenoid content, for use as a botanical ingredient and natural colour in supplements, foods and feed. The petals are the principal commercial source of lutein and zeaxanthin, the carotenoids responsible for their colour.
Marigold extract is formulated into capsules, softgels and tablets for the supplement trade, into foods as a natural yellow-orange colour, and into poultry feed as a pigmenting ingredient.
The material is a red to orange-red powder with a faint characteristic odour. Lutein content is standardised to specification and confirmed by HPLC on each lot, and identity is verified against the botanical reference. Loss on drying, residual solvents, heavy-metal, pesticide and microbial limits are supplied to specification and confirmed on each lot's certificate of analysis.
Nustras supplies marigold extract in bulk commercial quantities, in sealed light-protective packaging and fibre drums, to manufacturers and formulators internationally, with a certificate of analysis, specification sheet and country-of-origin documentation on every lot. Marigold-derived lutein is an accepted food, supplement and feed ingredient in major markets; buyers confirm the grade, permitted level and claim for their application.
