Mallow

Mallow is the common mallow, Malva sylvestris, a herbaceous plant of the Malvaceae family native to Europe, North Africa and Asia, together with closely related Malva species. The plant is characterised by its mucilage polysaccharides, with anthocyanins such as malvin in the flowers, flavonoids and tannins.

Dried flowers are violet to purple-blue, leaves and herb grey-green, powders green to greyish; extracts are brown.
