Kava

Kava (Piper methysticum) is a traditional Pacific botanical from the root of Piper methysticum, supplied by Nustras as a root powder and as a standardised extract. Its characteristic actives are the kavalactones, to which premium kava extracts are standardised, and it is traditionally used for relaxation and calming.

Kava is formulated into relaxation, calm and stress-support products and traditional beverages, in capsules, tablets and powders, where a kavalactone-standardised ingredient is required.

The material is a brown root powder or extract standardised to its kavalactone content to order. Identity and kavalactone assay are by HPLC; heavy-metal, pesticide and microbial limits are supplied to specification and confirmed on each lot's certificate of analysis.
