Horse chestnut extract is a botanical extract prepared from the dried seeds of Aesculus hippocastanum, the horse chestnut tree, supplied by Nustras as a certified organic yellow-brown powder. The seeds contain a complex of triterpene saponins known collectively as aescin (escin), along with flavonoids and starch.
Horse chestnut extract is formulated into botanical supplements in capsule and tablet form, herbal combination products, functional beverages, and cosmetic and personal-care products where a saponin-rich plant extract is wanted.
The material is a yellow-brown powder with a characteristic odour. Extract ratio and aescin content are standardised to specification; botanical identity is confirmed by HPTLC and aescin content by HPLC, with a grade available to European Pharmacopoeia requirements. The organic status is covered by a current organic certificate. Heavy-metal, residual-solvent and microbial limits are supplied to specification and confirmed on each lot's certificate of analysis. The listed origin is China.
Nustras supplies organic horse chestnut extract in bulk commercial quantities, in sealed packaging and fibre drums, to manufacturers and formulators internationally, with a certificate of analysis, specification sheet and country-of-origin documentation on every lot. Horse chestnut seed extract is an accepted supplement and cosmetic ingredient in major markets; buyers confirm the permitted level and claim for their application.
