Lion's mane (Hericium erinaceus) is an edible mushroom recognised by its cascading white spines, cultivated for the food and ingredient trades. Nustras supplies lion's mane as a fruiting-body extract, a yellow-brown powder standardised to its polysaccharide content, for use as a mushroom ingredient in supplements and functional foods. The fruiting body contains beta-glucan polysaccharides together with the hericenones characteristic of this species.
Lion's mane extract is formulated into capsules, tablets and powdered blends for the supplement trade, and into mushroom coffees, teas, broths and other functional foods and beverages where a fungal ingredient is wanted.
The material is a yellow-brown powder with a characteristic mushroom odour. Polysaccharide content is standardised to specification and confirmed by UV spectrophotometry on each lot, and identity is verified against the species reference. Loss on drying, ash, residual solvents, heavy-metal and microbial limits are supplied to specification and confirmed on each lot's certificate of analysis.
Nustras supplies lion's mane extract in bulk commercial quantities, in food-grade bags and fibre drums, to manufacturers and formulators internationally, with a certificate of analysis, specification sheet and country-of-origin documentation on every lot. Lion's mane is an accepted food and supplement ingredient in major markets; buyers confirm the plant part, extract ratio and claim for their application.
