Guar gum is a galactomannan polysaccharide obtained from the endosperm of the seed of the guar plant (Cyamopsis tetragonoloba). Nustras supplies guar gum as a milled powder, including a partially hydrolysed, low-viscosity grade used as a soluble dietary fibre, for the food, supplement and industrial trades.
Native guar gum is formulated into sauces, dressings, dairy, frozen desserts and bakery products as a thickener, stabiliser and water binder. The partially hydrolysed grade is formulated into fibre supplements, beverages, nutrition bars and enteral products where a soluble fibre with low viscosity is wanted. It is also used in cosmetics and pet food.
The material is a creamy-white to yellowish powder, nearly odourless. Viscosity, galactomannan content and particle size are standardised to specification for each grade and confirmed on each lot. Loss on drying, ash, heavy-metal and microbial limits are supplied to specification and confirmed on each lot's certificate of analysis.
Nustras supplies guar gum in bulk commercial quantities, in food-grade bags and fibre drums, to manufacturers and formulators internationally, with a certificate of analysis, specification sheet and country-of-origin documentation on every lot. Guar gum is an accepted food additive and fibre ingredient in major markets; buyers confirm the permitted use, level and labelling for their application.
