Galega Officinalis

Galega officinalis, commonly known as Goat's Rue, is a medicinal herb traditionally used in European herbal medicine. It is known for its lactogenic properties (stimulates milk production in nursing mothers) and blood sugar-lowering effects (was historically used for managing diabetes). It was used as a precursor to modern diabetes medications such as metformin, developed from its active compound galegine.
