Feverfew

Category: Botanicals

Feverfew is the dried aerial part of Tanacetum parthenium, a perennial of the daisy family native to south-eastern Europe and now cultivated across Europe and North America, with small daisy-like flowers and strongly scented leaves. Nustras supplies it as dried cut herb, milled powder and extract powder. The herb contains sesquiterpene lactones, principally parthenolide, together with flavonoids and an essential oil.

Feverfew is formulated into botanical supplements in capsule, tablet and liquid form, into tinctures and multi-herb formulas, often alongside ginger and magnesium, and into herbal tea blends.

Supplied as yellowish-green cut herb or a green powder with a strong, bitter aromatic odour and taste. Botanical identity is confirmed by macroscopic examination and thin-layer chromatography, with the parthenolide content by HPLC where specified; cut size, moisture and ash are standardised to specification. Heavy-metal, pesticide and microbial limits are supplied to specification and confirmed on each lot's certificate of analysis.

Nustras supplies feverfew in bulk commercial quantities, in food-grade bags and fibre drums, to manufacturers and formulators internationally, with a certificate of analysis, specification sheet and country-of-origin documentation on every lot. Feverfew herb is an accepted botanical ingredient in major supplement markets; buyers confirm the plant part, parthenolide grade and permitted claim for their application.
