Citrus paradisi is the botanical name of grapefruit, a citrus hybrid for its large, slightly bitter fruit. Nustras supplies grapefruit as a dried fruit powder, a peel powder and a fruit or seed extract, for use as a botanical ingredient in food, beverage, supplement and cosmetic formulations. The fruit and peel contain flavonoids such as naringin.
Grapefruit ingredients are formulated into supplements in capsule, tablet and powder form, into citrus-bioflavonoid and multi-botanical blends, into functional foods, beverages and flavour applications, and into cosmetic and personal-care products where a citrus ingredient is specified.
The fruit and peel powders are pale yellow to yellow-brown powders with a characteristic citrus odour; the extract is a yellow-brown to brown powder standardised to specification. Identity is confirmed by thin-layer chromatography, flavonoid content is determined by HPLC, and loss on drying, ash, heavy-metal and microbial limits are supplied to specification and confirmed on each lot's certificate of analysis.
Nustras supplies grapefruit powders and extracts in bulk commercial quantities, in food-grade bags and fibre drums, to manufacturers and formulators internationally, with a certificate of analysis, specification sheet and country-of-origin documentation on every lot. Grapefruit is an accepted food and supplement ingredient in major markets; buyers confirm the permitted plant part and claim for their application.
