Cistus incanus (also classified as Cistus creticus), the pink rock-rose, is an evergreen shrub of the Cistaceae family native to the Mediterranean region. Nustras supplies its dried aerial parts (leaves and young stems) as cut herb, powder or extract, for use as a botanical ingredient. The leaves are rich in polyphenols, chiefly flavonoids and proanthocyanidin tannins.
It is formulated into herbal teas and infusion blends, dietary supplements, capsules, tablets, lozenges and powdered blends, botanical extracts and cosmetic and personal-care products where this species is specified.
The material is a cut herb or powder with a characteristic aromatic odour. Total polyphenol content or extract ratio, loss on drying, ash and particle size are standardised to specification; identity is confirmed by macroscopic and HPTLC comparison with Cistus incanus reference material, and heavy-metal and microbial limits are supplied to specification and confirmed on each lot's certificate of analysis.
Nustras supplies Cistus incanus in bulk commercial quantities, in food-grade bags and fibre drums, to manufacturers and formulators internationally, with a certificate of analysis, specification sheet and country-of-origin documentation on every lot. Cistus incanus is an accepted herbal-tea and supplement botanical in major markets; buyers confirm the permitted plant part, use and level for their application.
