Cissus Quadrangularis

Category: Botanicals

Cissus quadrangularis is a perennial succulent vine of the grape family (Vitaceae), native to India, Sri Lanka and parts of Africa and traditionally used in Ayurvedic preparations. Nustras supplies it as a dried stem powder and as a standardised stem extract powder for use as a botanical ingredient in dietary supplements. The plant is characterised by its square, jointed stems and contains ketosteroids, flavonoids and stilbenes.

Cissus quadrangularis is formulated into capsules, tablets and powdered supplement blends, sports-nutrition and botanical stacks, and premixes for functional foods and beverages where an Ayurvedic botanical is specified.

The material is a powder whose colour and particle size are stated on the specification sheet, standardised to specification for marker content where an extract grade is ordered, with botanical identity confirmed by macroscopic, microscopic or TLC/HPTLC comparison against reference material. Heavy-metal, pesticide-residue and microbial limits are supplied to specification and confirmed on each lot's certificate of analysis.

Nustras supplies Cissus quadrangularis in bulk commercial quantities, in food-grade bags and fibre drums, to manufacturers and formulators internationally, with a certificate of analysis, specification sheet and country-of-origin documentation on every lot. Cissus quadrangularis is an accepted supplement ingredient in major markets; buyers confirm the permitted level and claim for their application.
