Banaba

Category: Botanicals

Banaba is a tropical tree, Lagerstroemia speciosa, native to Southeast Asia, and Nustras supplies its leaf extract standardised to corosolic acid for blood-sugar and metabolic-support formulations. The leaf has a long history in Filipino and Ayurvedic traditions; its headline active, corosolic acid, together with ellagitannins, is associated with glucose-metabolism and insulin-sensitivity support.

It is formulated into blood-sugar-management, weight-management and metabolic-health supplements, in capsules, tablets and powders, often alongside chromium, berberine or cinnamon. It is supplied as a standardised extract powder.

The material is a Lagerstroemia speciosa leaf extract standardised to not less than 20.0% corosolic acid by HPLC, with other ratios available to order. It is a brown powder prepared to a USP-aligned grade under product code NN-026; identity is confirmed by HPLC, and heavy-metal, pesticide and microbial limits are supplied to specification and confirmed on each lot's certificate of analysis. The origin is India.

Nustras supplies banaba extract in bulk commercial quantities, in fibre drums or cartons, to manufacturers and formulators internationally, with a certificate of analysis, specification sheet and country-of-origin documentation on every lot. Banaba leaf extract is used as a Natural Health Product and dietary ingredient recognised in major supplement markets; buyers confirm the accepted botanical name, standardisation marker and claim for their product.
