Arabic Gum

Gum arabic (acacia gum) is the dried natural exudate collected from the stems and branches of Acacia senegal and Acacia seyal trees, supplied by Nustras as a powder, available in certified organic quality, and used as an emulsifier, stabiliser, thickener, film-former and soluble fibre ingredient. Chemically it is a highly branched arabinogalactan polysaccharide with a small protein fraction.

It is formulated into beverage emulsions, confectionery and gummies, spray-dried flavours, tablets and capsules as a binder and carrier, powdered supplement blends as a fibre source, and cosmetic and pharmaceutical excipient applications.

The material is a white to brownish-yellow powder; CAS 9000-01-5. Viscosity, loss on drying, ash, pH and solubility are standardised to specification; identity is confirmed by the compendial identification tests for acacia, and heavy-metal and microbial limits, including the EU contaminant limits referenced in the specification, are supplied to specification and confirmed on each lot's certificate of analysis.
