Angelica archangelica is a tall biennial of the carrot family (Apiaceae) native to northern Europe and cultivated for its aromatic root, which carries a warm, musky aroma from its volatile oil and coumarins. Nustras supplies angelica root as dried cut herb, milled powder and standardised extract powder for botanical, flavour and herbal product applications.
It is formulated into herbal capsules and tablets, botanical blends, herbal teas and infusions, tinctures and liquid botanical preparations, and bitters and flavour systems for the beverage trade.
The dried root is a brown to grey-brown fibrous material with a characteristic aroma; the powder is light brown and the extract a brown powder. Identity is confirmed by macroscopic and microscopic examination or by HPTLC, with marker content standardised to specification. Heavy-metal and microbial limits are supplied to specification and confirmed on each lot's certificate of analysis.
Nustras supplies Angelica archangelica in bulk commercial quantities, in food-grade bags and fibre drums, to manufacturers and formulators internationally, with a certificate of analysis, specification sheet and country-of-origin documentation on every lot. Angelica root is an accepted botanical ingredient in major supplement and food markets; buyers confirm the permitted plant part, level and claim for their application.
