Agaricus bisporus is the white button mushroom, the most widely cultivated edible mushroom in the world and also sold at other maturity stages as cremini and portobello. Nustras supplies it as a fruiting-body extract powder standardised to its beta-glucan content, for use as a mushroom botanical ingredient. Beta-glucans are polysaccharides of the fungal cell wall.
It is formulated into dietary supplements, capsules, tablets and powdered blends, mushroom and botanical blends, functional foods and beverages, and natural-ingredient food products where an edible-mushroom extract is specified.
The material is a powder. Beta-glucan content (30% as listed in the specification), extract ratio, loss on drying and particle size are standardised to specification; identity is confirmed by macroscopic and chromatographic comparison with Agaricus bisporus reference material and beta-glucan by an enzymatic assay, and heavy-metal and microbial limits are supplied to specification and confirmed on each lot's certificate of analysis.
Nustras supplies Agaricus bisporus extract in bulk commercial quantities, in food-grade bags and fibre drums, to manufacturers and formulators internationally, with a certificate of analysis, specification sheet and country-of-origin documentation on every lot. Agaricus bisporus is an accepted edible mushroom and food ingredient in major markets; buyers confirm the permitted use, claim and level for their application.
