Taurine, listed commercially as L-taurine, is a sulfur-containing amino sulfonic acid that is not incorporated into proteins and occurs naturally in animal tissues, seafood and meat. Nustras supplies it as a white crystalline powder, one of the most widely used ingredients in energy drinks, sports nutrition and pet food.
Taurine is formulated into energy and functional beverages, sports-nutrition powders, capsules and tablets, amino-acid blends, infant and specialised nutrition products and, in feed grades, into pet food, aquaculture feed and premixes, where it is added to meet the dietary requirement of cats and certain fish species.
The material is a white, odourless crystalline powder, soluble in water. CAS number 107-35-7, molecular formula C2H7NO3S, molecular weight 125.15. Identity and assay are confirmed by titration or HPLC against the pharmacopoeial monograph; loss on drying, residue on ignition, chloride, sulfate, heavy-metal and microbial limits are supplied to specification and confirmed on each lot's certificate of analysis.
Nustras supplies taurine in bulk commercial quantities, in food-grade bags and fibre drums, to manufacturers and formulators internationally, with a certificate of analysis, specification sheet and country-of-origin documentation on every lot. Taurine is an accepted food, supplement and feed ingredient in major markets; buyers confirm the permitted level and labelling for their application.
